The first words that come to mind when reviewing the Proctor-Silex 60200 Commercial 2-Speed Drink Mixer are quality and durability. This mixer is substantial. It weighs about 10 pounds and it's tall: at 20.5 inches high, 8.3 inches wide and 7.6 inches deep. Built for commercial use, the mixer has a 300-watt motor and a stainless steel mixing shaft and agitator. A heavy base and built in stability bar, which folds under the item when not in use, also adds to the stability. With a 300-watt motor, the mixer easily moves though liquids and ice cream, yogurt, and diced fruit cut into small pieces. Operation is relatively simple. Just place the stainless steel cup in the slot at the top of the agitator (the cup guide) and the mixer automatically turns on. The mixer can then be run hands-free by placing the bottom of the cup on a cup rest. The mixer only has one switch, which is located at the top, to control the agitator speed. I have found that the low speed works well with liquids such as milk, juice, and ice cream, and the high speed is probably better for pancake batter and thicker liquids. The agitator itself cannot be removed, so the clean the agitator, the directions suggest placing a drop of soap and one cup of water into the mixing container, and to run on slow speed for five seconds, then to rinse out the cup and run the agitator again, with just plain water, for five more seconds.Bottom line, this is a very nice mixer and can be used for multiple purposes, such as mixing milkshakes, desserts, drinks, pancake batter, eggs, etc. It looks nice (black and stainless steel), and is powerful. It certainly isn't the least expensive mixer available, but because of its commercial grade it should last for years.
